Film star
George Clooney Actor has been roundly criticized for reportedly
making fun at a public event of Charlton Heston's battle with
Alzheimer's Disease.
New York Post
columnist Liz Smith reported that while Clooney was accepting
an award from the National Board of Review, he said that "Charlton
Heston announced again today that he is suffering from Alzheimer's."
Cable news
show host Bill O'Reilly was among those critizing Clooney, saying
"I believe most Americans will find these remarks mean-spirited."
O'Reilly also
sounded off at the fact that Clooney's comments had not sparked
more outrage..
"Just
imagine if someone mocked Christopher Reeve's paralysis,"
O'Reilly added. "The Hollywood press and the elite media
would go nuts, but very little has been said about Clooney's insensitivity."
