Leeza Gibbons Urging Use of Memory Checklist

TV and radio personality Leeza Gibbons is raising awareness about Alzheimer's disease by encouraging the use of a memory checklist during November as part of Alzheimer's Awareness Month.

Since Gibbons' mother was diagnosed three years ago with Alzheimer's disease, she has been seeking to educate Americans about the disease and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.

Gibbons, host of the daily syndicated TV program "Extra," is alerting consumers about the checklist, available nationwide at no cost, which serves as a quick and easy tool to help record their loved one's memory problems and other symptoms for discussion with their healthcare provider.

"I know how crucial it is for family members and friends to recognize the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease early on so that treatment can be started immediately," said Gibbons. "Mom began treatment soon after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, which allowed her to remain home longer and spend precious time with our family and friends."
