Former President Reagan, 91, Slipping in Battle With Alzheimer's

Former President Ronald Reagan, 91, is steadily slipping in his battle with Alzheimer's disease, according to a report in the New York Daily News.

The newspaper said close friends and relatives of the 40th president report that Reagan's physical and mental deterioration have accelerated in recent months, and that he no longer recognizes his wife..

"He no longer knows who Nancy is. Some days he seems to recognize her as someone who's familiar, but most of the time she's just a blank to him," one source said.

"He's becoming more difficult to deal with," another source told the newspaper. "Both his physical and his mental problems have gotten worse."
